When you donate to any organization, you want to ensure your donation will be used wisely, with care and discretion. We want to put your mind at ease. Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) is committed to transparency and accountability.

Y2Y is a trans-boundary, non-profit organization focused on the conservation of one of the world’s remaining intact mountain ecosystems.

As an environmental non-government organization, Y2Y operates as a registered 501(c)(3) organization (#81-0535303) in the United States, and as a Canadian Charity (#86430 1841 RR0001).

Y2Y is committed to transparency and accountability. Y2Y holds a four star rating with Charity Navigator, America’s premier independent charity evaluator. This means that in addition to adhering to good governance and other best practices Y2Y consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way.

How we use your donation

In 2021, 88 percent of Y2Y’s expenses directly supported our conservation projects and campaigns, and we were able to continue to keep fundraising and administration costs low.

Learn how we use your support and about the progress we’ve made since 1993.

Together, we will create new parks and protected areas, build wildlife-friendly highways, help people live peacefully with wildlife and heal damaged habitats throughout the Yellowstone to Yukon region.

Our work is driven by our mission, and only accepts funding that supports advancing our vision. Conservation challenges in the Y2Y region transcend borders. As such, we accept funding from both countries (and occasional donations from outside North America) and spend this funding on both sides of the border.

We do not knowingly accept funding from any entity seeking specifically to undermine local or regional economies. Please read through our Gift Acceptance Policy for more details.
