No clear cuts, no power lines, not even a road. This is Dene K’éh Kusān (pronounced Den-ah Kay Ku-sawn). In the language of the Kaska Dena it means “Always Will Be There.”

About the size of Vancouver Island, it’s British Columbia’s largest intact wilderness.

Move B.C. 3 per cent closer to protecting 30 per cent of lands by 2030

Bolster B.C.’s economy through sustainable tourism and recreation

Dene K’éh Kusān is the beating heart of the Yellowstone to Yukon region. This vast wilderness is in northern B.C. near the Yukon border: remote, wild, yet welcoming.

This is the territory of the Kaska Dena, who invite hikers, campers, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts to experience it firsthand. It is home to grizzly bears, Stone’s sheep, moose, millions of migratory birds, and seven thriving caribou herds.

Kaska have cared for these lands for thousands of years. And they have a plan to protect it for thousands of years more.
