What does it take to reconnect the Rockies? Join Planet Wild for a behind-the-scenes look at how Y2Y and our partners are helping wildlife move safely across busy highways. From Banff’s wildlife crossings to efforts along Highway 3, discover how science and collaboration are creating a more connected future for wildlife and people.
12:20 PM – Audience questions and discussion, followed by a brief intermission
12:45 PM – On the Landscape screening
Along the highways of British Columbia’s East Kootenay region, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep are at risk from the roads and railways that cut through their ancestral range. On The Landscape follows the scientists, First Nations guardians, wildlife managers, and grassroots conservationists fighting to save struggling herds before it’s too late.
From a herd reduced to just eleven animals near Golden, to a landmark wildlife overpass rising above Radium Hot Springs, this is a story about what we stand to lose, and what ordinary people can do when they refuse to let it happen.
