In the 1990s, a female grey wolf named Pluie traveled an extraordinary distance from Alberta into Montana and back, crossing highways, valleys, and mountain ranges. Her journey helped shift scientific understanding of how far wildlife move and underscored the profound importance of conserving and connecting landscapes.
Join Dr. Jodi Hilty, President and Chief Scientist of Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2025 at the Salt Spring Island Conservancy office for a special presentation. Jodi will shares the story of how Pluie inspired the Yellowstone to Yukon vision and how all conservation efforts, including Indigenous-led conservation, are important for reaching the shared global goal of protecting 30 percent of lands and waters by 2030.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. Presentation at 7 pm. By donation, RSVP required at the link.
