Sarah Baker Memorial Fund
Sarah Baker Memorial Fund supports important student work in the Y2Y region.
Sarah Jocelyn Baker's appreciation for the natural world and ability to find solutions resonate with the aspirations and vision of Y2Y. We are honored to carry her spirit forward through the Sarah Baker Memorial Fund. Thanks to a gift from her extended family, Y2Y is able to offer grants to post-secondary students pursuing environmentally related studies in any post-secondary institution.
The Sarah Baker grants support student projects that advance Y2Y's conservation strategy and result in tangible benefits within the region. Besides the benefits they bring to the region and our organization, the knowledge and experience students acquire can enhance their resumes and further their careers.
The following Sarah Baker grants have been awarded since the fund was established in 2009:
2016 - Elizabeth Domenech
2015 - Brittani Johnson and Hannah Jaicks
2014 - Andrea Morehouse
2013 - Robin Kite and Robin Steenweg
2011 - Nikki Heim and Sarah Rovang
2010 - Karine Pigeon and Stacey Burke
These students and their work represent a commitment to the future of the Y2Y region. We are very happy to be, with Sarah Baker, their supporters and partners in conservation of this very special place.
