Catch a unique perspective on a beautiful area

Now it’s easier than ever to see B.C.'s stunning old-growth forest and spectacular scenery from a unique perspective.

Now it’s easier than ever to see stunning old-growth forest and spectacular scenery from a unique perspective.

From northern Idaho up through the Selkirk, Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges, to northern B.C. near Prince George, a rare, rich inland rainforest grows. Forests like this are normally only seen near the moist coast, and this special place exists some 310 miles (500 kilometers) from the ocean. It is home to many threatened or endangered species, including mountain caribou, unique lichens and old-growth trees.

Y2Y partners at Conservation North recently captured innovative aerial video footage of this unique ecosystem. The drone’s viewpoint provides proof of landscape-level effects of industrial logging and roads in the area.

This work in hard-to-see areas helps inform decision-makers and conserve remaining old growth forest.
