Canmore to host Mountain Town and Resort Planner Summit

Unique conference shares collaborative solutions for mountain towns.

NOV. 26, 2018 — Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) is excited to be hosting the 2018 Mountain Town and Resort Planners Summit from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1, 2018.

This intimate gathering is the only conference that brings planners, elected officials, media, design professionals, and conservationists together to address planning issues in a bi-national, mountain town context focused on the unique challenges faced by mountain communities.

Sessions include various panels addressing mountain town growth; roundtables on workforce housing, wildlife and natural resources, wildfire resiliency, transportation and climate change. Tours of Canmore and Banff will showcase implemented solutions to common mountain town issues, including human-wildlife coexistence measures and community solutions for managing summer seasonal populations.
