On July 8th, our friends up north will be hosting the 12th Annual Paddle for the Peace to celebrate and defend the beautiful Peace River against the Site C dam.

However, if you are unable to attend, there is an opportunity to take part in the Lower Mainland. Show your solidarity with the Treaty 8 First Nations and the farmers who are losing their land to Site C.

Where and when: Please join us on July 8th at 1 p.m. at Vanier Park in Vancouver to enjoy a fun, family-friendly carnival themed afternoon of entertainment.

Enjoy speakers, performances, roving entertainers, and action tables where you can write to your representatives, sign postcards, volunteer, or find other ways to get involved in the movement. Our featured speaker will be Helen Knott, an incredible poet and activist from Prophet River First Nation.

We've confirmed stiltwalkers, puppeteers, hula-hoopers, poi spinners, musicians, poets, dancers, balloon sculptures, giant inflatable animals, and many other exciting and fun entertainers and activities.

Want to paddle? The BC Sea Wolves will lead a symbolic paddle from Granville Island to Vanier Park. If you would like to join the paddle, please be prepared to meet at Granville Island at 12 pm sharp. You can rent kayaks from Ecomarine Paddlesports.
