SUMMARY:Interpretive hike: Grassy mountain and the threat of coal
DESCRIPTION:Join Nicole Olivier\, Y2Y’s landscape protection manager\, as well as Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA) conservation specialists for a steep but rewarding hike in the vicinity of the proposed Grassy Mountain coal mine. From our vantage we will be able to see Grassy Mountain\, as well as a significant portion of the Oldman watershed that will be impacted if the mine is approved. If you want to be able to speak out against this project\, but aren’t quite sure how\, then this is the adventure for you! \nNicole and AWA’s conservation specialists will provide context and discuss the impacts of this particular mine\, as well as the cumulative effects of other land uses including logging on this already stressed watershed. Bring your questions and a pair of strong legs for a day of spectacular views and engaging\, informative conversations.
