Tim Johnson, Alberta Program Associate

Tim JohnsonTim is excited to be joining the Y2Y team in the role of Alberta Program Associate while Adam Linnard is on parental leave.

Originally from New York, he credits a childhood trip through the Tetons, Yellowstone and parts of Montana as the catalyst for a life in the mountains.

Tim moved to the Bow Valley in 1996 after completing his B.A. in Geography at Queen's University in Kingston and worked in operations, marketing and sales roles in the Banff-Lake Louise ski industry, followed by eight years as manager & corporate operations leader for Patagonia Banff/Calgary/Victoria. During this time he was introduced to Y2Y through Patagonia's 1% For The Planet program and he looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to Y2Y achieving its vision.

Recently, Tim has worked as Program Coordinator with the Friends of Kananaskis Country, coordinating their volunteer trail program and other projects related to the stewardship of Kananaskis Country.

In his free time, you'll often find him out on a bike somewhere - pedaling Canmore's seniors around town as a volunteer pilot with the Cycling Without Age program or exploring the Rockies on bikepacking adventures - or exploring an ever-growing list of trails on bike, skis and foot with his wife Kristen and black lab Chester (yes, he’s named after the lake).
