Loni Cantu - Y2Y intern

This summer Loni will create curriculum materials for the book Corridor Ecology and will focus the development of these materials toward high-need schools in the Yellowstone to Yukon region.

Loni CantuLoni is thrilled to be interning this summer at Y2Y. She grew up the youngest of six siblings in rural South Texas, and has a B.S. in Environmental Studies and Geography from Texas A&M University.

Currently, Loni is a Master of Environmental Management candidate at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Her seven year career path through U.S. Peace Corps, Teach for America, National Park Service, and AmeriCorps has manifested into the mission of supporting educational and conservation opportunities for under-served and disadvantaged youth.

She believes that inclusive, diverse, and equitable outdoor spaces and opportunities can promote a more peaceful relationship between society and our environment, in the Yellowstone to Yukon region and beyond. Loni is eager to create curriculum materials for the book Corridor Ecology and will focus the development of these materials toward high-need schools in the Yellowstone to Yukon region.

She loves climbing, cycling, and reading a good book. Loni doesn’t have pets but hopes to get a puppy next year! This summer Loni will be training for her first marathon and climbing mountains.
