Katrina Black, Grants Administrator

Katrina BlackKatrina has always had a love of the mountains and natural environment, from growing up in a small mountain town in New Zealand, travelling to Scott Base in Antarctica during her studies and finding her way to the Bow Valley.

Katrina holds a BSc in Zoology and Ecology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science from the University of Otago in New Zealand. She has over eight years of professional experience working in consulting and regional government in the Okanagan, Northwest BC, Alberta, New Zealand and Australia. Her experience includes proposal writing, reporting and project management. Some of her more interesting biology work has included being involved in a seal census in Antarctica, koala surveys in Australia, moose monitoring on the CN Rail in northwest BC and winter mountain goat monitoring north of Terrace, BC.

Katrina is very excited to be a part of the Y2Y team and is passionate about living in the Bow Valley. In her spare time, she can be found hiking, biking, climbing, camping, skiing and exploring this beautiful area with her husband and young daughter.
