Ellen McKay, Business Manager
Ellen is a Calgary native and the great granddaughter of Scottish immigrants who settled in Banff in 1901.
In 1993, Ellen moved to Banff and began a long-term relationship with Mountain Culture at The Banff Centre. She held several positions at The Banff Centre, including strategic partner coordinator and program manager, and was a member of the team responsible for delivering the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival. She also managed the Adventure Filmmakers' Workshop, Mountain Culture and Environment Speakers' Series, Banff Mountain Grant program, helped implement environmental programming and organized the 3E Initiative workshop, a policy think tank addressing climate change.
Ellen graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BA in Business Administration. She lives in Canmore with her husband, Terry, and daughter, Mira. In their free time they love skiing, hiking, rafting, gardening and exploring.
