Adam Linnard, Program Associate
Adam Linnard has a passion for environmental justice that combines his experiences in mountain wilderness and international community development.
Adam completed a BA in International Development at Dalhousie University in Halifax in 2008 and a Masters in Environmental Studies (Parks, Wilderness and Environmental Justice) at York University in Toronto in 2015, splitting the time in the middle between CAUSE Canada in Canmore and Parks Canada at Saskatchewan River Crossing in Banff National Park.
He has worked on environmental health, peacebuilding, microfinance, education and healthcare programming in northern Sierra Leone, researched tourism’s impacts on community demographics in the Nepali Himalaya and Tarai, and has done organizing work with the Canmore Community Gardening Society, Bow Valley Justice Film Festival, Toronto Nepali Film Festival, Dalhousie Tea Drinkers’ Society and the UnderCurrents Journal of Critical Environmental Studies.
Adam was born and raised in Canmore, where he currently lives with his partner, Lauren Kepkiewicz.
